Post Graduate Diploma Veterinary Physiotherapy (2016),

Level 1 - 2 Animal Physiotherapy (Equine) - Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA).

Elycia is a passionate, internationally qualified musculoskeletal physiotherapist, trained in the UK. She relocated to Melbourne in 2012 to join her family and launch her career in physiotherapy.

In 2014, Elycia began her Postgraduate Degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the University of Liverpool, UK, completing her studies through a mix of online learning and hands-on training alongside leading Australian professionals. Today, she shares her expertise as a clinical tutor for the Veterinary Physiotherapy Degree, guiding students across Australia and New Zealand.

Elycia currently serves as the Victorian Chair on the Australian Physiotherapy Association’s Animal Physiotherapy Board, where she plays an active role in shaping and upholding the highest standards of care for animal patients.

Balancing her career with life as a busy mum of two young boys, Elycia thrives in a fast-paced environment. She embraces her “superpowers” of Dyslexia and ADHD, which allow her to view information from fresh perspectives and develop innovative solutions. This unique way of thinking enhances her ability to design tailored management and rehabilitation programs for both jockeys, riders, and equine patients alike.

Her treatment philosophy is centred on restoring movement, comfort, and function as efficiently as possible. She combines evidence-based hands-on techniques, personalised rehabilitation plans, and one-on-one therapy to meet the unique needs of every patient. Alongside her equine work, Elycia also treats a variety of non-riding clients, including amateur & professional rugby union players; whilst also acting as a senior physiotherapist at Melbourne’s own Power House Rugby Union Club.

Outside of work, Elycia can usually be found in the gym, riding her horse, or running after her two boys —affectionately known as the “Equisio Team Mascots” and her long suffering non horsey husband. Whether handing out carrots to horses or bringing smiles to race day and competitions, as a family unit they add energy and warmth to every visit.
